With these paintings and colored pencil drawings, I wanted to connect the interior of an animal cell to the landscapes and map collages I was creating. Both have manifold little elements that add to the mystique and aesthetic quality of the overall composition. Both draw the viewer in to notice, wonder and consider what is going on. I enjoyed how these blown up images of a microscopic thing felt very similar to my space paintings.
