Durer's Apocalypse Studies

I have loved Durer's Apocalypse woodcut series for a long time. I often think about them when envisioning new compositions or translations of images. In this mini-series I recreated some of his scenes using the blobby, imprecise forms made by oil sticks. I added to add some detail with wax crayons once they had dried. I enjoy the idea of epic, grave religious stories becoming child-like, bright, colorful and a tad less serious.
