These watercolors were done during my two year stay in Baku, Azerbaijan. Islamic art is all around the city, from the old town to the ubiquitous tea cups, to the paisley designs on clothing. Azeris are proud of their culture. I did not intentionally include motifs or inspiration from what I saw, but upon reflection, it is very much there.
